Assessing Practical Work
In order to improve our own practical work, as a class we watched an example of a level 4 music video then evaluated the music video mentioning what works well and what can be improved.
We watched a music video a previous group did for the A2 project which was called Eman and Roshane- Thump. We collectively identified that the things that worked well in the music video was that they used many different transitional techniques were used like fades not just straight cuts this in effect makes the editing seamless. Futhermore, the use of colour in the video had connotations and conveyed messages to the viewer. Parts of the video was in colour whilst other parts where in black and white which signifies the past and present. In order to improve this music video they could make sure that they do not chop heads and feet in the shots and make sure the camera does not shake.
After this we peer assessed our own production work and we noticed that the elements of our music video that is working well is that we had good editing techniques and the footage we had was not shaky. An aim we identified is that we need to use a variety of shots in order to make our music video more visually insteresting.
